IN BRIEF
Trial Conversion Rate in Pro Insights helps measure how effectively trial enrollments convert into regular class enrollments. This metric is calculated using trial enrollment data over a selected time period and is expressed as a percentage to help identify enrollment trends and evaluate the success of trial programs.
Overview
The Trial Conversion Rate is a Pro Insights metric designed to show how many students who attend a trial class later enroll in a regular class. This information can help administrators evaluate how compelling their trial experience is and how effectively interest is converted into long-term enrollment.
Trial Conversion Rate answers the question: Of all students who attended a trial during a specific time period, what percentage later enrolled in a regular class?
Deleting source data will affect the accuracy of results.
How is the Conversion Rate calculated?
Pro Insights uses the following data points to calculate Trial Conversion Rate:
- Trial students: These are students who attended at least one trial class (i.e., had a TRIAL-type enrollment) during the selected time period.
- Converted students: Students who enrolled in a regular class after their trial are counted as conversions.
- Expressed as a percentage (i.e., the total is multiplied by 100).
Formula
Using these numbers, Pro Insights uses the following formula to calculate the Trial Conversion Rate:
- (Number of trial students who later enrolled in a regular class ÷ Total number of trial students) = Trial Conversion Rate
- Trial Conversion Rate × 100 = Trial Conversion Rate Percentage
Example
- 50 students attended a trial in a month
- 30 of these students enrolled in a regular class afterward
Then:
Trial Conversion Rate = 60% (i.e., (30 ÷ 50) × 100 = 60%)
This metric helps you evaluate how compelling your trial experience is and how well you're converting interest into long-term commitment.
Troubleshooting & FAQs
-
Why does my Trial Conversion Rate change after running reports again?
- Trial Conversion Rate is based on enrollment data. If source data is modified or deleted, such as removing enrollments or trial records, the calculated results may change.
-
Are students counted more than once if they attend multiple trial classes?
- No. Trial students are counted based on having at least one TRIAL-type enrollment during the selected time period.
-
Do students need to enroll immediately after a trial to count as a conversion?
- No. As long as the student enrolls in a regular class after attending a trial, they are counted as a converted student.
-
Does Trial Conversion Rate include students who book single-day events or camps?
- No. Only students who transition from a TRIAL enrollment to a regular class enrollment are included in the conversion calculation.
