How Do I Create a Skill Level?

IN THIS ARTICLE:
Learn how to create/edit Skill Levels in iClassPro and how they are used to configure your Skill Tree.

What Is a Skill Tree?

A Skill Tree is a visual representation of your curriculum. Your Skill Tree is constructed in a hierarchy, where one layer nests below the previous one:

These skill tree layers allow you to customize your skill tree to your class needs. As a student progresses in their skills, they will work their way up the skill tree until the discipline has been mastered:

  • Individual SKILLS are achieved until an EVENT is completed.
  • Individual EVENTS are completed to finish a LEVEL.
  • Individual LEVELS are finished to master a DISCIPLINE.

What is a Skill Level?

Levels are the second-highest layer of a skill tree, and nest directly below the Discipline. They can be easily customized according to your school’s curriculum.

Examples of Levels are: Level 1, 2, 3, 4 or Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced

If desired, Level Codes can be assigned to each Level for use on the Roll Sheet Report (CLA-4), Instructor Roster Report (STA-8), or Class/Camp Roster Report (STA-9).

Note that currently there is no direct correlation between the Class Level and Skill Tree Level.

      • If this setting is enabled but NO email template is selected, then the system will not prompt you to send an email if the Skill Level is marked “Passed.”
    • See “How Can I Be Prompted to Automatically Send an Email When a Skill Level is Marked ‘Passed?’” for more details.
  8. Under “This Level Includes”, select which other layers will be nested below the Level in the Skill Tree hierarchy.

To delete a Level, click on the Level name and click the red “Delete Level” button. Deleting a Level will completely remove the Level along with any associated Events. However, it will not delete individual skills or skill evaluation records.
