Overview
The Certificate Designer is used to create branded Skill Certificates by replacing the System’s default certificate background with a custom image. Administrators can also control the font color and placement of the student name and pass date to ensure the certificate layout matches their organization’s branding and design preferences.
Each certificate design is configured at the Skill Level, allowing different Levels within the same Discipline to use unique certificate layouts if needed.
Accessing the Certificate Designer
- Navigate to SETTINGS>SKILLS.
- Expand the relevant Discipline to reveal its Levels.
- Select the Level you wish to customize.
- In the right‑hand column, choose the Certificate Designer tab.

Customizing a Skill Certificate
Background Image
- Enable "Use Custom Background image."

Drag/drop or Browse files to upload your background
- NOTE: Recommended size: 3300px × 2550 px.
NOTE: The custom image fully replaces the default background, so include your logo, Skill Level name, and other graphics as needed.
Text Color
- Use the color picker to select the font color for the student’s name and date.
Name Placement
- Choose a placement option in the Name Placement grid.
- Select the checkmark to disable the Name field entirely.
- The system renders the field in 43 pt Arial/Helvetica.
Date Placement
- Choose a placement option in the Date Placement grid.
- Select the checkmark to disable the Date field entirely.
- The system renders the field in 43 pt Arial/Helvetica.
NOTE: The Name and Date fields cannot be placed on the same row. Conflicting choices are automatically deselected.
Editing an Existing Custom Certificate
- Navigate back to SETTINGS>SKILLS.
- Expand the Discipline, then select the Level.
- Open the Certificate Designer tab.
- Make your edits and select UPDATE LEVEL to save.

The background image is not updating on the certificate. What should I do?
