IN BRIEF:
The Check-In Kiosk settings control how students and families check in for classes or events in iClassPro. These options allow you to manage check-in availability, restrict access, require policy acceptance, and enable QR code features for faster entry.
Overview
The Check-In Kiosk enables students or families to record attendance for classes, camps, or appointments without staff intervention. Administrators can configure kiosk behavior, including how and when check-ins are allowed, policy compliance, QR code usage, and system display options.
These configurations ensure accurate attendance tracking, enforce policy agreements, and streamline the check-in process.

QR Code Features
QR code settings simplify and speed up the check-in process.
-
Enable QR Code Scanning – Allows families or students to scan their assigned QR code for check-in.
- For setup and details, refer to How Do QR Codes Work with the Check-In Kiosk?.
- Auto Generate QR Codes for Customer Portal – Automatically generates and assigns QR codes for families or students when they access their Customer Portal account.
-
Auto Check-In on Scan – Enables touchless check-in. When scanned, the system automatically checks in the student or family for all eligible events, briefly displays confirmation details, then returns to the main screen after the timeout period.
- If any restrictions apply, the kiosk displays an error message or prompt instead of a success message.
Check-In Popup
-
Show Check-In Popup (Not Available With Auto Check-In) – Displays a confirmation dialog for check-in actions.
- NOTE: This setting is automatically disabled if Auto Check-In on Scan is enabled.
Important Notes
- Enabling the Check-In Kiosk forces the use of Attendance Check-In Mode, regardless of whether that option is enabled elsewhere in the System.
- When the first student in a class checks in, all other students in the class are automatically marked Absent until they check in or are manually marked Present by staff.
- This configuration ensures complete attendance data for tracking and reporting.
Troubleshooting & FAQs
-
Why does the kiosk display “Please See Front Desk”?
- This appears when required policies are not accepted or a family has an overdue balance. These issues must be resolved in the Office Portal before check-in is allowed.
-
Why can’t students check in even though the kiosk is enabled?
- Verify that “Restrict All Check-Ins” is not enabled. When active, it prevents all check-ins and sets the kiosk to read-only mode.
-
Can families accept policies directly through the kiosk?
- No. Families must log into the Customer Portal/Mobile App or contact the front desk to review and accept required policies.
-
What happens if the kiosk times out during check-in?
- The system automatically logs out inactive users after the defined timeout period under “Seconds of Inactivity.”
