The Data Lake lets eligible customers access their iClassPro account data from a single, centralized location using their own Business Intelligence (BI) or SQL tools. It is used for advanced, custom analysis that goes beyond iClassPro's built-in reports. Data combines from multiple accounts and updates once every four hours.
The Data Lake is an add-on service available only to Premium and Enterprise customers for an additional fee, and it requires your team to build and maintain its own queries, reports, and dashboards.
Overview
The iClassPro Data Lake makes your account data accessible from a single, centralized location. If you manage multiple iClassPro accounts, the Data Lake combines all account data into one System for easier analysis.
Data in the Data Lake updates every four hours. Queries reference data from the most recent update rather than real-time data.
You can access the Data Lake using:
- A Business Intelligence tool (such as Power BI).
- An SQL client, using the credentials provided by iClassPro.
The Data Lake is an add-on service, and access is not available to every customer. To use it:
- Your account must be on a Premium or Enterprise subscription plan.
- The Data Lake is enabled for an additional fee on top of your subscription.

An alternative to the Data Lake is Pro Insights (What is Pro Insights?), a collection of embedded analytics intended to enhance the information already available from iClassPro's built-in reports.

Accessing the Feature
Full credentials are provided to allow connection to the Data Lake. This enables administrators to define which metrics can be accessed by different users.
To access your credentials through the secure link:
- iClassPro will send an email to the account owner's address on file.
- Select the 1Password Link in the email to access the secure site.
- Enter your Email Address to receive a verification code.
- Enter the Verification Code to view the shared item.
The shared secure note contains the login credentials needed to access the Data Lake server, including:
- Host Name
- User Name
- Password
- Database Name
When you hover over these fields:
- Options appear to copy or view the details in larger type.
- The Password field includes a Reveal option to display the password in plain text (for manual entry into your SQL or BI tools).
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Open the secure email from iClassPro.
- Select the 1Password Link to access the secure note.

Verify your identity using your Email Address.
- Enter the Verification Code.
- View and securely store the credentials.
- Use these credentials in your SQL client or BI tool to connect to the Data Lake.

Pro Insights vs. the Data Lake
Both options help you analyze your iClassPro data, but they work very differently:
- Pro Insights provides embedded analytics and dashboards directly within iClassPro, so you can review insights without leaving the System or connecting outside tools.
- The Data Lake provides raw access to your account data so your team can build custom queries, reports, and dashboards in your own BI or SQL tools.
- Premium and Enterprise customers receive one Pro Insights seat included with their subscription.

What iClassPro Provides and What Your Team Will Need
The Data Lake is designed for customers who have technical resources available to work directly with their data. Before requesting access, review the scope of what is included:
- You are responsible for building your own queries, reports, and dashboards.
- iClassPro provides credentials and a Schema document only.
- iClassPro does not provide setup assistance for BI tools, SQL development, dashboard creation, or report building.
- iClassPro does not provide ongoing support for customer-developed reporting environments.
- Your team should have technical resources available to connect to the data, interpret the schema, and maintain any reports or dashboards you create.
