Learn how to submit a future absence request through the Customer Portal, including options for requesting absences by date or enrollment.
The option to submit a future absence request is only displayed if "Allow future absence requests" is enabled under SETTINGS>CUSTOMER PORTAL>OTHER SETTINGS>GENERAL SETTINGS.
Creating a Future Absence Request By Date
- After logging into your account, click the MY ACCOUNT link in the toolbar at the top of the screen.
- Click the “Future Absences” icon under the student for whom you wish to record a future absence.
- NOTE: In the Mobile App, select ACCOUNT from the navigation toolbar at the bottom of the screen, select the student for whom you wish to create a future absence, then click "Future Absences."
- This will launch the “How do you want to create a future absence?” wizard.
- Select "By Date."
- Will this absence span multiple days?
- Yes
- When will this take place?
- Set the date range for the future absence. If needed, uncheck “All Day” to set specific hours for the absence. (If “All Day” is checked, the absence will affect all class enrollments on that date for the student. If specific hours are chosen, only enrollments for classes that meet during those designated hours will have the absence marked.)
- Click “Submit” to submit the absence request.

Important Note
Due to the way iClassPro stores future absences in the database, any absences created by date are actually stored beginning at 12:00am on the day it begins.
Therefore, if future absences are auto-approved/auto-excused and the absence is created on the date that is being missed, this will actually result in two expected absence entries being recorded.
- One absence for 12:00am until the time the absence request was submitted (which will be marked UNEXCUSED).
- One absence for the period of time AFTER the absence request was submitted until the end date/time of the absence (which will be marked EXCUSED).
Creating a Future Absence Request By Enrollment
- After logging into your account, click the MY ACCOUNT link in the toolbar at the top of the screen.
- Click the “Future Absences” icon under the student for whom you wish to record a future absence.
- NOTE: In the Mobile App, select ACCOUNT from the navigation toolbar at the bottom of the screen, select the student for whom you wish to create a future absence, then click "Future Absences."
- This will launch the “How do you want to create a future absence?” wizard.
- Select "By Enrollment."
- Select the date of the future absence.
- Select the Class(es) the student will be missing.
- (optional) Enter a comment to explain why the student will not be attending class(es) on that date.
- Click “Submit Absences” to submit the absence request.
