### Ordering Tuition Schedule pricing based on "Count By" settings

The “Count By” settings when configuring your Tuition Schedule will affect how students and classes are ranked to figure how much each student should be charged.

In the examples below, students are represented by **GREEN NUMBERS**, and classes/hours/timeslots are represented by **BLUE LETTERS**.

**COLUMNS** represent the number of students in the family.

**ROWS** represent the number of classes/enrollments.

Therefore, cell references represent **STUDENT:CLASS/ENROLLMENT**.

#### Scenario 1

(Count Classes ONE AT A TIME / Count Students ONE AT A TIME)

__Example:__Three students in the family. All are enrolled in the same class.

__Tuition Schedule Settings:__Count Classes/Time Slots/Hours By: ONE AT A TIME

Count Students By: ONE AT A TIME

__Result:__Each student has one enrollment and each student is counted separately. Therefore:

- Student 1 is charged the amount in cell 1:1 for their enrollment.
- Student 2 is charged the amount in cell 2:1 for their enrollment.
- Student 3 is charged the amount in cell 3:1 for their enrollment.

#### Scenario 2

(Count Classes ONE AT A TIME / Count Students ONE AT A TIME, additional enrollments)

__Example:__Three students in the family. All are enrolled in the same class.

Student 1 is also enrolled in a second class/timeslot/hour.

__Tuition Schedule Settings:__Count Classes/Time Slots/Hours By: ONE AT A TIME

Count Students By: ONE AT A TIME

__Result:__Student 1 has two total enrollments. Students 2 & 3 each have one. Each student is counted separately Therefore:

- Student 1 is charged the COMBINED TOTAL of cells 1:1 and 1:2 for their enrollments.
- Student 2 is charged the amount in cell 2:1 for their enrollment.
- Student 3 is charged the amount in cell 3:1 for their enrollment.

*For Student 1, classes will be ranked based on the highest tuition.*

(Count Classes TOTAL / Count Students ONE AT A TIME)

__Example:__Three students in the family. All are enrolled in the same class.

__Tuition Schedule Settings:__Count Classes/Time Slots/Hours By: TOTAL

Count Students By: ONE AT A TIME

__Result:__There are 3 total enrollments for the family and each student is counted separately. Therefore:

- Student 1 is charged the amount in cell 1:3 for their enrollment.
- Student 2 is charged the amount in cell 2:3 for their enrollment.
- Student 3 is charged the amount in cell 3:3 for their enrollment.
