IN BRIEF
The SMS/Text Messaging feature in iClassPro allows businesses to send mass notifications to families, students, and staff. Before messages can be sent, SMS credits must be purchased, and key settings like headers, footers, signup messages, and available hours must be configured. Businesses should also update family policies to explain how SMS communication will be used.
Overview
The SMS/Text Messaging feature allows administrators to send time-sensitive updates directly to families and staff.
- SMS messages require pre-purchased credits.
- Only staff with “Admin Access” can purchase credits.

Customizing SMS Options
Under Message Options, you can configure:
-

-
Available SMS Hours
- Defines the window of time during which SMS can be sent.
- If staff attempt to send a mass SMS outside of this window, they will be presented with a warning.
- However, staff with the Mass Text Availability Override permission can override this restriction.
- NOTE: SMS messages triggered by Autopilot workflows will always honor SMS Availability Hours.
Updating Policies
Businesses that use SMS may get several questions about how the SMS tool will be utilized. We highly recommend outlining policies for your staff about how and why SMS may be used to communicate with customers.
Once this is decided, relay this information to your customers by updating your Family Policies (SETTINGS>POLICIES>FAMILY POLICIES) to include a section related to SMS communications so customers can review this information before signing up to receive messages.
