Learn how to export a generic time clock entries file for use with other third-party payroll services.
Who should use Generic Exports?
If your business is using any payroll service other than Quickbooks or ADP, you will need to utilize one of our generic export files to export employee hours from iClassPro’s time clock feature.
These generic exports use two different approaches to reporting the hours the employee worked in CSV (comma separated value, worksheet) format. Any additional fields needed by your payroll software for importing the data would need to be manually added and formatted to its needs.
You can learn more about each of our Generic export options below.
Exporting Entries By Pay Period
When generating a generic CSV file by Pay Period, the information inside of the document is limited to the employee’s name, position, regular hours and overtime hours. If the same employee worked in multiple positions/roles/titles, one row will be generated for each one.
Exporting Entries By Date
When generating a generic CSV file by Date, the information inside of the document is limited to the employee’s name, position, date and duration. This is essentially a list of the duration of every time entry for every employee.
Additional Options
Regardless of which export method you choose, the following options will be available:
- Show Location - if enabled, the export will include a column showing the Location linked with the staff member's Time Clock entry/entries.
- Show Staff Time Clock ID - if enabled, the export will include a column showing the Staff Time Clock ID connected with the staff member.
These columns will be inserted before the "Employee" column in the export file.
