How Do I Delete a Family or Student?

Deleting a family or student in iClassPro permanently removes all associated data, including enrollments, attendance, skills, and ledger history. This process should only be done when absolutely necessary, as deleted data cannot be recovered.

Overview

The delete feature allows administrators to remove family or student records from iClassPro. To prevent accidental data loss, the System requires users to manually enable the delete option before proceeding.

Once a record is deleted, all related data—including contact details, enrollments, payments, attendance, skill evaluations, and ledger entries—will be permanently erased.

This action cannot be undone. In some cases, our team may be able to restore the original family/student data, depending on what changes have been made since the deletion. However, data restoration is not guaranteed and may be subject to a service fee if recovery is possible.

Accessing the Feature

To delete a record, you must first enable the Delete button in the relevant Family or Student record.

Enabling the DELETE button

To improve the user experience and prevent the accidental deletion of customer accounts, we require that you activate the option to delete a family or student and confirm that you wish to delete them.

Deleting a family

To access the button to delete a FAMILY and all related records (such as contact information, policies, students, enrollments, payments, charges and notes) follow these instructions:

  1. Search for the family on the Families page.
  2. Click the pencil icon to Edit the family.
  3. Under Details, below the family's email addresses, click View More.
  4. At the bottom of the family details, check the box labeled "Enable Delete Button for this Family"
  5. The Delete button will now appear at the bottom of the window. Click Delete.
  6. A window will pop up, prompting you to confirm that you do indeed wish to delete the family. If you do, type DELETE in the box and click OK. If you decide that you do not want to delete the family after all, click Cancel.

Deleting a student

To access the button to delete a STUDENT and all related records (such as enrollments, attendance history, skill evaluations, and notes) follow these instructions:

  1. Search for the student on the Students page.
  2. Click the pencil icon to Edit the student.
  3. At the bottom of the student details, check the box labeled "Enable Delete Button for this Student"

  4. The Delete button will now appear at the bottom of the window. Click Delete.
  5. A window will pop up, prompting you to confirm that you do indeed wish to delete the student. If you do, type DELETE in the box and click OK. If you decide that you do not want to delete the student after all, click Cancel.

Troubleshooting & FAQs

  • I do not see the “Delete” button. What should I do?
    • Make sure you have checked the box labeled “Enable Delete Button for this Family/Student.” The button will only appear after you enable it.
    • If you do not see the option to “Enable Delete Button for this Family/Student”, you have not been granted the appropriate permissions to delete families/students.
  • I do not have permission to delete a family or student. How can I fix this?
    • Only users with the appropriate staff permissions can delete records. Contact your administrator to verify your permission settings.
  • Can deleted families or students be recovered later?
    • No. Once deleted, the record and all associated data are permanently removed from the System.
