Learn how to disable or clear the AutoFill/AutoComplete information in some of the most popular web browsers to prevent this information from being unintentionally saved or used in your browser.
Google Chrome Instructions
Turning Off Autofill in Chrome
- Click the Chrome menu icon. (Three dots at top right of screen.)
- Click on Settings.
- In the "Autofill and passwords" section, expand the area for which you wish to disable Autofill.
- Toggle the setting OFF if it is on. The system will automatically save your settings.
Clearing Autofill Data in Chrome
- Click the Chrome menu icon. (Three dots at top right of screen.)
- Click on History, then click on History again in the menu that appears.
- Select Clear browsing data. (Alternatively, you can press CTRL+SHIFT+DEL on your keyboard to bypass steps 1-3.)
- If it is not already selected, click on the "Advanced" tab.
- At the top, select “All Time” as the "Time Range" to clear all saved data.
- Make sure that the “Autofill Form Data” option is checked. If you wish to clear "Passwords and other sign-in data", be sure to check that option as well.
- Click "Delete Data."
Note: This action may take some time to complete, depending on how often you clear your browsing history.
Firefox Instructions
Turning off Autofill in Firefox
- Click on the Firefox menu icon. (Three lines at top right of screen.)
- Click on "Settings."
- Choose "Privacy & Security."
- In the "Autofill" section uncheck the options for which you wish to disable Autofill. The system will automatically save your settings.
Clearing Autofill Data in Firefox
- Click on the Firefox menu icon. (Three lines at top right of screen.)
- Click on "Settings."
- Choose "Privacy & Security."
- In the "Autofill" section, click on the "Clear History" button. (Alternatively, you can press CTRL+SHIFT+DEL on your keyboard to bypass steps 1-3.)
- In the "When" dropdown menu, choose “Everything.”
- Make sure “History” is checked.
- Click "OK" to clear the Autofill data.
Disabling and Clearing Saved Logins and Passwords in Firefox
- Click on the Firefox menu icon. (Three lines at top right of screen.)
- Click on "Settings."
- Choose "Privacy & Security."
- In the "Passwords" section, uncheck "Ask to save passwords." This will prevent the system from prompting you to save logins and passwords in the future.
- To clear any saved Logins/Passwords, click "Saved passwords."
- This will bring up a list of all of your saved passwords. Each entry will have a "Remove" option, so if needed you can remove them one at a time.
- To delete ALL saved logins, click the three dots in the upper right-hand corner of the screen, then choose "Remove All Passwords."
- Enable the "Yes, remove these passwords" option to verify that you wish to remove all of the passwords, then click "Remove All" to delete them.
Note: This action may take some time to complete, depending on how often you clear your browsing history.
Microsoft Edge (Chromium) Instructions
Turning off Autofill in Edge (Chromium)
- Click on the "Settings and More" icon. (Three dots at top right of screen.)
- Click on "Settings."
- The menu should default to "Profiles." If not, select this option from the menu on the left-hand side of the screen.

In the "Your Profile" section, click on each of the following and be sure the option is toggled off:
- Passwords
- Payment info
- The system should automatically save your settings.
Clearing Autofill Data in Edge (Chromium)
- Click on the "Settings and More" icon. (Three dots at top right of screen.)
- Click on "Settings."
- Click on "Privacy, search, and services." (Alternatively, you can press CTRL+SHIFT+DEL on your keyboard to bypass steps 1-3.)
- In the "Delete Browsing Data" section, click "Choose What to Clear."
- For the "Time Range", choose ALL TIME.
- Be sure "Autofill Form Data (Includes Forms and Cards)" is checked. If you wish to clear "Passwords", be sure to check that option as well.
- Click "Clear Now."
Note: This action may take some time to complete, depending on how often you clear your browsing history.
Safari Instructions
Turning off Autofill in Safari
- Click on the Safari menu. (The word Safari at the top of the screen.)
- Click on "Preferences."
- Click on the "AutoFill" tab.
- Uncheck “User names and passwords." If you wish to prevent Safari from saving any other AutoFill web information, be sure to uncheck those options as well.
- The system should automatically save your settings.
Clearing Autofill Data in Safari
- Click on the Safari menu. (The word Safari at the top of the screen.)
- Click on "Preferences."
- Click on the "AutoFill" tab.
- Next to “User Names and Passwords” click "Edit."

Click "Remove All" to clear all saved usernames/passwords.
- If you only need to clear logins for iClassPro, select any "iClassPro.com" entries and click "Remove."
- Click "Done" when you are finished.
