Overview
Primary Guardians can invite Secondary Users to access their Family account. Once invited, Secondary Users receive an email allowing them to register their own login credentials.
By default, Secondary Users can only view limited account details. However, the Primary Guardian may grant additional permissions (e.g., viewing the full ledger or making payments).
Granting Access to Secondary User Accounts
In order for Primary Guardians to invite Secondary Users to access their Family account:
- Log into your Customer Portal account.
- Navigate to the MY ACCOUNT screen.
- Scroll to the Account Information section.
- Select Send Invite Email below the desired Secondary User’s name.
- If prompted to do so, confirm or update the email address.
Note: If adding a new Secondary User, you must save the user’s details first, including their email address, before sending the invite email.
Re-Sending an Invitation
Invitations expire after 48 hours (2 days). To re-send:
- Log into your Customer Portal account.
- Navigate to the MY ACCOUNT screen.
- Scroll to the Account Information section.
- Select Re-Send Invite Email next to the Secondary User’s name.
Accepting an Invitation
Upon receiving an invitation:
- Select the link in the received email.
- Create a password and confirm that you are at least 18 years old.
- Agree to iClassPro’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
- Select Submit to complete setup and access the dashboard.
Important Note: By default, Secondary Users can only view account details. If desired, the Primary Guardian can grant additional permissions (see “Managing Account Access Permissions” below).
Using the Family Switcher
Secondary Users with access to multiple Family accounts can switch accounts easily:
- Open the User Menu (upper left-hand corner).
- Use the down arrow to the right of your current family account name to select a different family account.
Resetting Passwords for Secondary Users
Once the Secondary user has accepted the invitation, Primary Guardians will not be able to directly edit their contact information. However, they can use the "Reset Password" button to send a Password Reset email to the Secondary user.
Secondary users can change their passwords themselves by logging into the Customer Portal/Mobile App, navigating to MY ACCOUNT, and clicking Change Password in the "Login/Security" section.
If they are unable to log in, they can reset their passwords with the Forgot Password option on the login screen.
Managing Account Access Permissions
In order for Primary Guardians to grant additional permissions to Secondary Users:
- Log into your Customer Portal account.
- Navigate to the MY ACCOUNT screen.
- Scroll to the Account Information section.
- Select Account Access next to the Secondary user.
- Enable the appropriate options:
- View Full Ledger
- Can Make Payments
Important Notes:
- Secondary Users cannot create or manage enrollments for students.
- If “View Full Ledger” is disabled, the "Transaction History” section of the MY ACCOUNT page will not be displayed to the Secondary User.
- If “Can Make Payments” is enabled, Secondary Users can only use their own payment methods.
Revoking Secondary User Access
Primary Guardians can revoke access for a Secondary User at any time by clicking the “Revoke” button on that User’s profile in the “Account Information” section of the MY ACCOUNT page.
Staff members can also revoke Secondary Users' access privileges via the Office Portal.
- See “How Does a Staff Member Revoke Access for a Secondary User?” for more information.
Consequences of Revoking Access
- When the Primary Guardian revokes the user’s access, an email will be sent to notify that user and provide instructions to contact the Primary Guardian of the account if they have any questions.
- While staff members have the ability to revoke login access for secondary users from the Family details in the Office Portal, they cannot grant secondary access or send/re-send invitations to secondary users.
- If Customer Portal access is manually revoked by the Primary Guardian or a staff member for a Secondary User and that user has saved payment information, the system will delete all payment methods associated with that guardian.
