The System includes flexible search tools that allow administrators to quickly locate family, student, and staff records using partial names, phone numbers, email addresses, or Association IDs. Search behavior varies slightly depending on the page you are searching from, but all options are designed to help narrow results efficiently—even when only limited information is available.
Overview
Search fields are available on the Family, Student, and Staff list pages and allow you to locate records using a variety of identifying information. The System supports partial searches, meaning you do not need to enter full names or complete phone numbers to receive results.
Each list page supports different search criteria based on the data stored for that record type. Understanding which fields are searchable on each page can help you refine results and locate records more quickly.
Accessing the Feature
Search functionality is built directly into the list pages for families, students, and staff.
- From the main navigation menu, go to Families, Students, or Staff.
- Locate the search field at the top of the list page.
- Enter search criteria and review the filtered results.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Available Search Options by Page
The information you can search for depends on which list page you are using.
Family List Page
- Guardian first and last name (Guardian 1 and Guardian 2)
- Primary and secondary phone numbers
- Primary and secondary email addresses
Student List Page
- Student first and last name
- Primary and secondary phone numbers
- Association ID
Staff Page
- Staff first and last name
- Primary and secondary phone numbers
- Primary and secondary email addresses
Searching by Name
When searching by name, the System looks for matching text anywhere within the first or last name.
- You can enter any portion of the name.
- Results include records where the entered letters appear anywhere in the name.
Example: Searching for stan returns results for:
- Stanley
- Constance
- Tristan
This partial-match behavior allows you to locate records even when you are unsure of the full spelling.
Searching by Phone Number
Phone number searches support partial numeric entries.
- Enter any sequence of digits from the phone number.
- You may search using:
- Area code
- Prefix
- Last four digits
The System will return all records containing that sequence of numbers.
Searching by Email Address
Email searches allow you to match any portion of an email address.
- Enter a full email address or just part of it.
- Common examples include:
- A domain (such as @aol.com)
- A username (such as jsmith)
Important Note: Searching by email address is available on the Family and Staff pages but does not work on the Student page.
Searching by Association ID
Association ID searches are available on the Student list page and are commonly used to track membership numbers or organization-specific identifiers.
- Enter any text stored in the Association ID field.
- The search may include:
- Numbers
- Letters
- A combination of both
Partial entries are supported, allowing you to locate students even if you only know part of the ID.

Why am I not getting results when searching by email address on the Student page?
- Email address searches are not supported on the Student list page. To search by email, use the Family or Staff list pages instead.

Do I need to enter a full name or phone number to get results?
- No. The System supports partial searches, so entering only part of a name, phone number, or email address will still return matching records.

Why am I seeing multiple results when I search?
- Partial searches may return multiple records if the entered text appears in more than one name, phone number, or email address.

Can I search for staff using an Association ID?
- No. Association ID searches are only available on the Student list page.
