Overview
A MAKEUP enrollment is used when a student needs to attend a class session to make up for a previously missed enrollment date. Makeup enrollments are free within the System, but they still count toward the maximum enrollment capacity for a class.
When a Makeup request is submitted through the Customer Portal/Mobile App, the System creates an entry in Online Activity. A staff member must approve or deny the request before the enrollment is finalized.
Accessing the Feature
Makeup requests can only be submitted through the Customer Portal/Mobile App. The exact steps depend on how the request is initiated, but all options are available after logging in.
Step-by-Step Instructions
After logging in to the Customer Portal/Mobile App, there are two ways to start a Makeup request:
Option One: Start from “Book Now!”
- Select Book Now!
- Choose Request a Makeup from the list of enrollment options.
- Select the student(s) for whom the Makeup request should be created.
- Select See Classes.
Option Two: Start from “My Account”
- Navigate to My Account.
- Locate the appropriate student.
- Select Makeup.
- Select Request a Makeup.
Choosing a Class
- The class list is automatically filtered to show classes that meet the selected student’s:
- Age requirements.
- Gender requirements.
- Filters can be adjusted as needed:
- All filters are multi-select.
- Select Apply Filters to apply selected filters and reload the class list.
- Select Remove Filters to clear all previously selected filters.
Important filter behavior
- Selecting only Male or Female limits results to gender-specific classes. To see all eligible classes, Co-Ed must also be selected.
Submitting the Makeup Request
- Select a class that has available openings.
- Review the class details.
- Select Request Makeup.
- Enter any additional details in the Anything else we need to know? field.
- Select Add to Cart.
The System attempts to submit an enrollment for all eligible students. If an issue is detected, a message is displayed explaining the problem, such as:
- Not enough available openings for all selected students.
- A conflicting enrollment already exists.
Completing Checkout
Once the enrollment appears in the shopping cart, you can:
- Select Add Enrollments or Bookings to create another enrollment.
- Select Visit [Point of Sale/ProShop] to add a product purchase, if available.
- Select PAY NOW to complete the checkout process.
NOTE: If the total cost in the shopping cart is $0.00, the button displays Complete Transaction instead of PAY NOW.
What Happens After You Submit a Request
- After a successful checkout:
- A confirmation message is displayed.
- An email is sent confirming the Makeup request was received.
- Once a staff member reviews the request:
- A follow-up email is sent indicating whether the request was approved or denied.
Important Notes About Makeup Enrollments
- Makeup enrollments:
- Are considered free within the System.
- Count toward the class’s maximum enrollment capacity.
- Default to the same start and drop date, as they are intended for a single class session.
- If a class meets multiple times on the same day (for example, Monday from 7:00 PM–8:00 PM and 8:00 PM–9:00 PM):
- The enrollment is created for all timeslots attached to that class.
- If a class meets on different days (for example, Monday from 7:00 PM–8:00 PM and Wednesday from 8:00 PM–9:00 PM):
- The student is enrolled only for the specific date selected for the Makeup.
- Makeup enrollment availability may be affected by the setting Restrict enrollment start date based on class start time under:
- SETTINGS>CUSTOMER PORTAL>OTHER SETTINGS>CLASS REGISTRATION
Troubleshooting & FAQs

Why does my Makeup request need approval?
- All Makeup requests submitted through the Customer Portal/Mobile App generate an Online Activity entry that must be reviewed and approved by a staff member.
-
Why do I not see all classes when searching?
- The class list is filtered based on age, gender, and selected filters. Make sure Co-Ed is selected if you want to see all eligible classes.
-
Why does the checkout button say “Complete Transaction” instead of PAY NOW?
- When the total cost in the shopping cart is $0.00, the System replaces PAY NOW with Complete Transaction.
