What is a data controller/data processor?

The data controller determines how and for what purposes personal data is processed. Any staff members that input or process personal data do so to fulfill the role of the data controller.

The data processor processes personal data, but only on behalf of the data controller. The data processor is usually a third party external to the company, such as a software provider or data warehouse.

Who controls the data that is input into the iClassPro system?

In regards to data that is input into the iClassPro system, iClassPro is considered the data processor, and the merchant/business is the data controller.

Is there a Data Processing Agreement in place?

iClassPro can provide a Data Processing Agreement when needed. For customers in the EU, this form must be accepted when subscribing to iClassPro services. For non-EU customers, this agreement is sent prior to any import or custom database work.

The Data Processing Agreement document is sent through Docusign. Once received, it is stored along with the merchant/business account information in iClassPro’s Customer Relationship Management system (CRM).

Where is the data held that is input into the iClassPro system?

The data is stored in a data center located in the East Coast region of the United States.
