How Do I Purchase SMS and Voice Credits in iClassPro?

Learn how to purchase SMS/Voice credits, and how to configure auto-renew settings to automatically purchase additional credits when the number of available credits falls below your predetermined threshold.

NOTE: This feature is currently available at the rates shown below. Credits must be purchased prior to the use of this feature. Because this service incurs additional fees, you must be logged into a profile with "Admin Access" permissions enabled whenever you purchase credits. Replies are not available.

Complete Setup

For customers outside of the US and Canada, please contact iClassPro (support@iclasspro.com ) to start the setup process for SMS messaging (texting). 

If you are a customer in the United States or Canada and have not used this feature before navigate to SETTINGS>SETUP>GENERAL SETTINGS>SMS AND VOICE, then click the pencil icon to open the SMS and Voice settings.

Here, you will need to enter a local area code for the service to find an available phone number for the messaging service to assign to your account. Then click Get Phone Number.

This will prompt a pop-up window where you will need to confirm the correct area code has been answered. Click Yes to confirm and continue.



PRO TIP! This will be a no-reply number, so only outgoing messages will be sent. No replies are recorded.

Review Phone Number and Available Credits

If you have already completed setup, under Settings > Setup > General Settings > SMS and Voice the software will show your assigned phone number. This number will be used specifically for your business to send outgoing voice broadcasts (to any phone) or text messages (to text-enabled phones) within your customer and staff lists. 

It will also display the number of available credits purchased for your account. Credits must be purchased prior to sending SMS messages or Voice Broadcasts. (You will need to have a form of payment on file under SETTINGS>BUSINESS INFORMATION in order to set up the number of purchase credits.).

Purchasing SMS/Voice Credits

Only staff members who have been assigned "Admin Access (Full Permissions)" have the permission to purchase credits.

To purchase credits, go to Settings > Setup > General Settings > SMS and Voice.

Under Purchase More Credits, the user can enter the number of credits needed to be purchased, which will automatically calculate the purchase price.2020-01-24_16_00_02-iClassPro___superstars.png

After reviewing your purchase total, click Submit Purchase Request to bill the account (credit card or bank account) on file for your subscription fee with iClassPro. This transaction will be billed immediately to the account.

If the transaction is successful, your purchased credits will now be available for use.

Configure Auto-Renew Settings

Only admin users with access to settings have the permission to configure the Auto-Renew settings.

To purchase credits, go to Settings > Setup > General Settings > SMS and Voice.

Under Purchase More Credits, the user can enable Auto-Renew Settings and enter the number of credits to be purchased along with the balance threshold, which will automatically configure the system to purchase credits when the number of available credits falls below the threshold amount. The system will bill the account (credit card or bank account) on file for your subscription fee with iClassPro whenever Auto-renew is triggered. NOTE: The amount of credits defined in the "Automatically Purchase" field will be used to calculate if multiple purchases will be required to complete a specific communication task. For example, if the amount of credits to be purchased is set to 1000 but a particular communication task will require 1300 credits to complete, the system will actually purchase two batches of credits at 1000 each, for a total of 2000 credits.

After reviewing your purchase total, click Submit Auto-renew Request to save the settings. 

If the transaction is successful, any credits purchased using the Auto-renew settings will be immediately available for use.

Failed Payments for Auto-Renewed Credits

If a payment fails for auto-purchasing credits, the Auto-Renew feature will be disabled and the system will record the following entry in the Audit Log:

SMS/Voice credit auto-renew failed. Auto-renew disabled; see SETTINGS>SETUP>GENERAL SETTINGS>SMS AND VOICE for more information.

Navigating to SETTINGS>SETUP>GENERAL SETTINGS>SMS AND VOICE will display the following information:

iClassPro attempted to auto-purchase credits, but the payment was declined. To restore SMS/Voice functionality, please update your billing information under SETTINGS>BILLING INFORMATION or contact iClassPro at 877-554-6776 for assistance.

As soon as payment information is updated under SETTINGS>BILLING INFORMATION, iClassPro will attempt a payment for the requested SMS credits.  If the payment is successful, the credits will be added and the Auto-Renew feature will be re-enabled.
