The attendance module can be used to track record of whether a student was present, absent, left early, arrived late and whether that was excused or unexcused for any of that student's enrolled days. You can access attendance from the family, student, or class page by clicking the "enrollments" action icon (see screenshot below) next to either the family, student, or class record on the list pages.
Once you are viewing enrollments for a family, student, or class, you can click the "Class Attendance" button (see screenshot below). When you click that button, it brings up the attendance window where you can mark the student's attendance. To mark attendance, simply check the box for the students you are marking and their attendance status, and click the mark button. (see screenshot below).
The roll sheet report will reflect if attendance has been taken with either a check mark if they were marked present or a X mark if they were marked absent.
Please let us know if you have any other questions about attendance.

Can you please clarify what TARDY means? Is it late to class? We don't use this expression in the UK.

Why is is that STATUS and EXCUSED are right by each other...shouldn't there just be one drop down menu that states: Present, Absent (excused), Absent (unexcused), etc. On top of that it doesn't really make sense for it to be excused or not excused. If it were in an actual school setting and grades were determined by attendance I suppose it might matter then. But we just need to know who was here and who wasn't. We can add notes to someone's account for special circumstances. I hope that makes sense!

I guess I just liked V1 attendance MUCH better. It was simple and much less confusing. You just marked them here or not and hit save.

To answer the question about the Tardy status, that status would indicate that the student was late to class.
Some schools have requested to have the ability to use excused or unexcused to mark attendance. They do this to determine if the student is eligible for a make up. Regarding your comment about attendance in V1, we actually are planning on completely re-working this attendance window based on our reviews so far to make it faster to use. This is still in development right now. You will be posted of any updates in our announcements forum. And, I will be sure to take down your suggestion about the drop down menus.
Please let me know if there is any other questions about attendance. Have a great day!

I agree with Mathew David Reedy. Under the old iclass version, our coaches took attendance on ipads and it was very efficient. The next day we always ran an attendance report showing which class roll was not taken. There are consequences for coaches that do not take roll in our gym.

Does it mean we would not be able to use the original attendance site once we transfer to V2? I wasn't aware of that? What would happen to our attendance data? Where and how do we run an attendance report in V2?
The original attendance taking feature was very easy to use and works very well. I'm surprise it's being changed.

Also, it was a good feature that each coach can only see their own classes and take attendance for those. It was simple and worked very well.

I think the options with the new attendance works great. I just wish I could access the system on my IPhone and IPad like I did in version 1. That is a big disappointment.

Is there a way to print an attendance report for one student? I have a parent that wants to know the attendance of her child over the last three months. I would like to just look it up and print it out for her.

iClassPro is still working on brainstorming a new attendance module for V2, we get a lot of feedback that V1 was a good start. However we are looking for some more specifics.
There seems to be a lot if interest in iphone/ipad integration and it's definitely in the plans- but requires a relatively simple interface for the new module. In addition individuals have requested excused/unexcused option and an option to view a single student's attendance history (with a start and end date).
I have done some brainstorming myself and come up with what I believe is a useful attendance function using the calendar (see Calendar Attendance Function under Feature Requests). If there are additional features you would like to see in the new attendance module, please put them in the feature request section!
Thank you!

Well summer is over now. We start a new gym season next Monday. Any chance there is a new Attendance Module coming out between now and then?? I need a quick easy way for coaches and teachers to input attendance. The current choice is either use paper rolls or have them go through a 6 step process taking valuable time out of classes. (besides asking for mistakes to be made)
The attendance module was one of the PRIMARY reasons we chose IClassPro over JackRabbit's software. I am beginning to really doubt my decision. This is SAAS. (Software Application As Service) it should not take months and months to implement functionality that already existed in previous versions.
I can't be the only gym owner that sees the value in accurate attendance.
With accurate attendance, we can then ramp up our after class customer service by running "We missed you" email campaigns. We can track and show the parents what time they are actually paying for. We can use this information for a considerable number of things.

The old version was SO much better than the V2. Each coach took roll using iPads. The next morning we would run reports showing who didn't take roll the previous day (that report is no longer available in V2). Also, with the OLD version the family page would show all of the adsenses of a student at a glance versus having to click through each week. At a glance is much better than having to constantly skip through the weeks. Sometimes I need to go back more than 3 months and it is a pain. Please hurry up and return to the old way so we can quit wasting paper and money having someone take the roll sheets and enter adsenses into iclass.

Hi Everyone,
I'm really sorry for the inconvenience you have been having with the attendance features of iClassPro.
I'm happy to let you know that a change for this is coming very soon! It should be within the next month. We will be making the in-app attendance much easier to mark., and easier to view absences for a specific student. Also, we will release at the same time the option for mobile attendance via any web phone, ipad, or iphone. Also, we will be adding in a couple more attendance reports. The mobile portion will be really similar to how it worked in V1, and it will be enhanced in a few ways.
This is at the top of our priorities at the moment, and I will be creating new announcements as this progresses. I hope this helps everyone! Please contact us if there is anything else we can help with or if you have any questions about this.

Thank you Donnie for the update. if I can help you test it I will be glad to. Besides being a gadget guy anyway, my other business develops with practically all the toys out there. iPads iPods iPhones, android evos, android tablets, windows tablets, macs, PCs.
