Global Tuition Charges is the task in iClassPro that charges students for the classes they are enrolled.

When processing global tuition charges, the first thing you need to do is select a charge category. We strongly recommend creating  a charge category for each time you bill tuition, for instance, Session 1, Session 2 or February 2010, March 2010. The next step is to select the billing schedule. The billing schedule determines which students are charged for tuition.

Then, you select the 'Charge Date' as it should be shown on the statements and ledgers.

The next option is important in understanding how Global Tuition Charges works which is the Student Active As Of. Select the "Student's Active As Of" date. In order for the student to be charged, the student must be active on the date you select and enrolled in a class with the billing schedule you selected. For example, if you select a future date, students that have dropped before that date will not be charged and students that start on or before that date will be charged.

Also, enter a due date for this charge. The due date is shown on the customer statements and in the portal. Using the due date allows for the late charges feature to apply late charges for this charge.

When you push the Preview and Process button, you will see a list of all the students about to be charged and how much they will be charged (charge amounts are after proration and discounts). All students with a check mark next to their name will be charged. By default, the system checks for duplicate charges and will automatically not have the students name checked if a duplicate charge is detected.
