A non-class program is a program that is used for grouping other non-class items. Mainly, charges and payments. By choosing this, you are in fact creating a department, and as such, the program will not appear in the list of programs in the parent portal. For example, you can have a program called registration fees (so you can track fees separately) that you do not want customers to see in the portal. Making this program a "non-class" program will hide it from the portal.

This allows more detailed tracking for financial. For example, you can have a program called "Pro-Shop" and use charge categories for each item under proshop, for example, uniform. The financial reports would be broken down by program, and then each charge category under that program. So, in this case, the financial report would show the total amount collected for "Pro-Shop" and then show the amount for "uniform."
